Definitely optional, but a nice to have. They are always a bit too expensive to start out with, but I always regret it when my metro stations get backed up and wished I had more platforms. It isn't easy to delete an existing metro and insert one of these with existing lines to recreate. So I end up using these later in a city when I am just optimizing my routes and have plenty of money. Still, if you like optimizing your metro lines, these are a good choice to have.. I wouldn't even buy this DLC, even during the times when it's 75% off. You can get a user-made mod with better functionality on the CiM forums.. Makes using Metros so much easyier and nicer to build :D. Almost a must-have for any serious metro system.There are MODs out there so can't really comment on the value for money.. Regardless that these stations should have just been included in the base game - I think they are absolutely essential! Well worth whatever pittance they are selling them for. Makes your metros more of a "Network!"
